New Yorkers are always in a rush, which may cause them to forget some of the most important things, such as cash for their taxi ride. Well, thanks to Amos Tamam, New Yorkers and those who reside in Philedelphia, can now comfortably leave their cash at home due to his invention of a device that allows taxi riders to pay their fee using their credit cards. His success began in the 1980's when he earned an electrical engineering degree from Tel Aviv University in Israel. After making his way to the United States, Amos Tamam started working in the taxi cab industry. With hard work and a lot of determination, he became the CEO of Verifone Transportation Services, Inc.
He started out repairing taxis, then moved on to taxi meters, and finally impacted the East Coast when he developed a wireless system that allows taxi cabs to process credit cards using wireless technology.
So far, credit cards accepted in taxi cabs are Visa, American Express, and Master Card.
Amos Tamam is currently working on bringing this fantastic ability to taxis all over America.
